9 Tiny Issues That Ruined The Reputations Of Great Video Games
1. Rocksteady Not Developing Batman: Arkham Origins
Sometimes we get a developer switcheroo and nothing really changes. Look to your annual Call of Duty instalments or the handful of Ubisoft teams that tackle Assassin's Creed every couple of years.
However, with Batman: Arkham Origins, not only did Warner Bros. Montreal have to contend with a shorter release schedule; pumping out another game despite Rocksteady not being ready, but Rocksteady themselves weren't even involved.
Thankfully, the game remains one of the best in the series (especially with Knight being a pretty huge letdown), though it would take years for Origins' reputation to shift away from "that other Arkham game". Telling the story of a much more green, rookie-ish Batman getting used to policing Gotham and meeting Joker for the first time, Origins voice cast and script were top notch, with gameplay following in tow.
With Rocksteady barely commenting on this thing's existence throughout development - which could've given it a "blessing" from the original creators - and not including Origins in Arkham Knight's retrospective credits roll, it's all but buried it as something you should avoid, when the exact opposite is true.
