9 Unannounced 2018 Video Games You Need To Know About
7. The Legend Of Zelda: Link's Awakening Remake/Reimagining
Though many fans would love to see the 2D prototype of Breath of the Wild that was used to conceptualise the physics of that game made into a full release, it seems Nintendo are going in a completely different direction.
Reported by industry insider and on-the-money rumour mill Marcus Sellars, the next Zelda will be a new-age remake of 1993's Link's Awakening on 3DS, in a style not dissimilar to A Link Between Worlds. Also taking many lessons and a lot of influence from Breath of the Wild, it's being developed by Grezzo, who were responsible for the phenomenal Majora's Mask rework/update in 2015.
It's hard to say what sort of art or inventory style this Link's Awakening reimagining will have, but focusing on a Breath of the Wild feel lines up with comments from Eiji Aonuma, as to how his "eyes have been opened" in regards to open-world design, and how it should be the way the franchise goes from here.
