9 Video Game DLCs That Ruined Perfect Endings
1. Assassin's Creed II - Battle of Forli
The Ezio Trilogy comprises Assassin’s Creed II, Brotherhood, Revelations, and two DLCs. The Bonfire of the Vanities which is pretty good and the Battle of Forli which is really not very good. The problem with this DLC is that it comes right after Ezio infiltrates the Vatican, defeats big bad Rodrigo but decides to spare him, unlocks the Vault using the Apple and the staff–just go with me here–and speaks to the hologram of Minerva who is from the First Civilisation.
Look, it’s all very complicated so to put it plainly let me just explain that s**t is going down.
It leaves off with Minerva making Ezio aware of Desmond which is, quite frankly, huge. This is extra epic because Brotherhood picks up right where AC2 ends. Unfortunately, if you don’t want to miss a thing you’ll be playing the DLC Battle of Forli before you dip into Brotherhood and, as I said earlier, it kind of sucks. While it does answer a couple of questions, the pacing drops right off, it never really feels like a battle, and you’ll wade through more of the same for very little payoff.
Basically it’s getting in the way of you starting Brotherhood, so for that crime and how it pales in comparison to AC2’s ending, it makes our list.
