9 Video Game DLCs That Ruined Perfect Endings
3. Prince Of Persia (2008) - Epilogue
When it comes to video game faux pas that we see far too often in sequels and DLCs, retconning story elements is up there with the worst offenders. Retconning an entire ending is a fan-angering step further, then. Enter 2008’s Prince of Persia which ended with an extremely intense final call where the Prince chose to save his lover over the entire rest of the world.
The last scene in the game shows the Prince walking away with Elika slung over his shoulder as the world crumbles behind them.
In retrospect, a pretty epic and unexpected end. As is the case with Life Is Strange, sometimes you gotta go with your girl over everything else. Except in this case the Epilogue DLC decided to backpedal on a few things. The additional content had Elika get irritated over being saved and in the end she leaves the Prince to find her people.
So, yeah. Yay. Much better?
