9 Video Game Enemies That Help You Defeat Them

1. Dr. Neo Cortex - Crash Bandicoot

Cortex really had no idea what he was doing.

Ignoring the warnings of his henchman, Dr. Nitrus Brio, Dr. Neo Cortex tries to make Crash Bandicoot the general of his army and lead his Cortex Commandos to world domination, despite numerous past failures. He zaps Crash with the Evolvo-Ray, but the machine rejects the Bandicoot, who escapes.

When Crash eventually makes his way back to Cortex through perilous platforming and other failed experiment bosses, he defeats the mad scientist by reflecting his own projectiles back at him (because of course).

Regardless of Cortex being defeated by his own energy projectiles or not, it was the bandicoot spinning them back at him that was his greatest creation, and also his undoing.

By experimenting on Crash and trying to make him super powerful for his own use, he inadvertently gave Crash the very tools he needed to defeat him, himself.

Similarly to this, at the end of the first Hitmangame, Codename 47, Agent 47 kills the Mad Scientist who created him. Posing as an Subject 48, 47 tricks Professor Ort-Meyer into letting him into his office, where he then shoots him.

Creation defeating creator really is the ultimate irony. What did they expect to happen?!
