9 Video Game Hard Modes That Were WAY Too Easy

Minecraft has never been a game that prides itself on its difficulty.

Quite the opposite, in fact - Minecraft is popular with audiences of all ages for the simple fact that the game boasts a level of challenge that isn't directly related to the difficulty settings you've selected.

With that said, Minecraft does have difficulty settings. Players can play on Creative or Peaceful mode, which allow the means to enjoy the building/gathering elements of gamplay rather than defending against Minecraft's many monsters, but Minecraft also has a "Hard" difficulty setting.

Essentially the only difference on Hard mode is that your character is able to starve to death, and their hunger level depletes slightly faster. Other than that, Minecraft on Hard is in no way different to Minecraft on any other non-Peaceful mode, making it feel like a redundant inclusion to long-time players hoping for something of a challenge.

At least the difficulty settings have no effect on the heart-stopping fear you feel when a Creeper invades your hand-built castle, and that's not something that can ever be taken away.
