9 Video Game Hard Modes That Were WAY Too Easy
5. Chronicles Of Riddick: Escape From Butcher Bay
Chronicles of Riddick: Escape from Butcher Bay is a game that has moved into relative obscurity, despite being an absolutely stellar example of how much fun stealth games can be.
Tasked with escaping from the supposedly impenetrable Butcher Bay Correctional Facility, notorious anti-hero Riddick takes on an entire planetful of guards and monsters in order to forcibly regain his freedom.
As anyone familiar with the character would likely suspect, the game leans heavily on its use of stealth tactics and less on out-and-out action sequences, and quietly disposing of guards from the shadows is the name of the game.
While Escape from Butcher Bay's hard mode does present a certain level of challenge, the use of stealth negates much of it, and once you obtain the stun gun you'll breeze through without hitting many snags. The weapon can be used to silently destroy the prison's lighting, making it even easier to move around unseen.
Escape from Butcher Bay is a truly brilliant title, but its difficulty levels were seriously miscalculated.
