9 Video Game Hard Modes That Were WAY Too Easy
4. Dragon Age: Inquisition
Dragon Age: Inquisition is a solid RPG that fulfills everything fans of the series had hoped it would, and built on the franchise's strengths in almost every way.
Dragon Age: Origins and Dragon Age II both came equipped with a number of difficulty levels ranging from I'm-here-for-the-story-Easy up to I'm-a-masochist-that-remembers-to-save-every-few-minutes-Hard, meaning that no matter your skill level, you could enjoy an appropriate amount of difficulty.
Dragon Age: Inquisition, however, presented us with not just a Hard mode but a "Nightmare" difficulty setting, which combined with the games tactical battle camera option seemed to be an enticing opportunity for players to truly challenge themselves.
The problem was that Nightmare really didn't measure up. As long as you stick to areas designed for your own level and keep at least one character of each class in your party, you'll be able to zip through the game in no time at all.
It wasn't as much an absence of difficulty as a poorly named difficulty setting, but it really should have been even just a little harder.
