9 Ways The Gaming Industry Is Currently Trolling All Of Us

7. Overly Expensive Peripherals

We've already talked about the unfortunate economics of video game publishing, but in recent years the money-grabbing has really taken a turn for the extreme. Whereas the console and game itself used to be the sole expenditure to facilitate gaming, many developers are now trying to introduce the need for numerous external peripherals as well. For now these are largely centred around kids' games, since most parents are suckers for satisfying their little offspring, but it's surely only a matter of time before this starts to have an effect on the larger gaming community. How many of you out there wouldn't buy a little Snow Speeder for the chance to constantly pilot one in Battlefront missions on Hoth? Exactly. I'll bet there are more than those willing to admit, but this latest moneymaker disguised as an 'interactive experience' is nevertheless frustratingly unnecessary. It needs to be stopped before it's too late.
