9 Ways The Xbox One Is Secretly Better Than The PS4
3. Playable Early Game Previews
Early Access games can very easily be abused. Asking for money to get going and then not delivering in the long run, many games have seen their studios get paid for a job not even started, leaving the final product to be a smouldering mess *cough* Mighty No.9 *cough*.
Still, for a gaming landscape relatively devoid of mandated demos for each new release, it's great to have a selection of playable titles that don't ask for anything in return. Fantastic games like Prison Architect and The Long Dark got their start on this Preview program - complete with free playable states representing where they were at at the time - and if you're up for seeing a game grow on a week to week basis, it can be a fascinating experience seeing it come together.
Granted, with Fortnite's new Battle Royale mode we now have a marquee Early Access game on PS4 too, but only the Xbox has a whole section dedicated to various upcoming projects you can get in on.
