AEW Fight Forever: 5 Things It Does Better Than WWE 2K23 (And 5 It Doesn’t!)

8. DOES: Self-Deprecating Humour

The fab 'Exploding Barbed Wire Deathmatch' match type comes with a killer Easter egg. It's entirely possible to relive the outright embarrassment of that now-infamous Kenny Omega vs. Jon Moxley bout from Revolution 2021. You want sparklers instead of explosions? You got it.

What a hilarious inclusion that is.

Fight Forever is drenched in a lighthearted vibe that clicks too. The main 'Road To Elite' story mode never really takes itself seriously (right down to including banter about all the culinary delights your wrestler samples on the road), and it's even possible to take some selfies with a fully-in-makeup Sting.

All of this fun combines to soak AEW's game in self-deprecation. They wanted your time playing the game to be zany so it'd stick in your mind, and they've smashed that goal. 2K23's 'MyRise' does have some lighthearted moments, but they can't hold a candle to what's on offer over on the AEW side.
