AEW Fight Forever: 5 Things It Does Better Than WWE 2K23 (And 5 It Doesn’t!)

4. DOES: In-Arena Atmosphere

WWE 2K23's crowds serve up muted chants that only happen sporadically, and appear to be at random. Further, they're often drowned out by the in-game commentary. That's not a complaint, because having some comms is welcome, but it's just an observation. Fight Forever does things a little different.

Fans around ringside and in the arena generally are LOUD.

There's no in-match commentary to speak of in AEW's game, which probably helps chants carry more weight. Crowds roar with approval for pretty much every strike, grapple or bump, and they swell to a satisfying crescendo when someone bashes opponents with a signature move or finisher to end the match.

Whomever decided to turn that "crowd noise" slider all the way to 11, we salute you. It's reflective of the passionate atmosphere one expects to see from AEW's best pay-per-view moments, and that's exactly how playing a video game replica of the real thing should be: Fight Forever offers an adrenaline-fuelled bottling of All Elite's most fervent hardcore fans.
