AEW Game: 10 Features We Must See In The Upcoming Console Title

8. An Overhauled Control System

For a long time now, wrestling games have had gameplay mechanics which don't break the mould. Whether it's holding a button for a heavier strike or pointing the stick in a certain direction with a specific button for an all too familiar move, developers have taken an "if it ain't broke, don't fix it" approach for what feels like forever.

It's easy enough to understand why, but this AEW game has the opportunity to reinvent the wheel and come up with something new for players to experience.

The PlayStation 5, for example, has a completely overhauled DualSense controller, and there's no reason not to take advantage of that technology. It could be a case of pulling down R2 to different levels to dictate how hard an Irish Whip will be or having to hit combos for more brutal moves.

It will take some getting used to, but setting this franchise apart from what WWE delivers is a must, and heading down this route could be a, no pun intended, game changer!
