After Skyrim: 10 Awesome Predictions for the Future of the Elder Scrolls Series

7. More Playable Races

Over the course of the Elder Scrolls run we€™ve mainly had access to the same handful of races when creating our budding adventurers. However, Tamriel is host to a staggering range of NPC races that we€™ve never had the chance to get to know hands on. I€™m talking about races like the Ayelids; the forgotten (but still existing) race of Elves that first colonised Tamriel; The Akaviri; travellers from the continent of Akavir who are based heavily on Chinese culture; The Kothringi; an ancient (thought to be) extinct race of humanoids with metallic skin. There are plenty of races to choose from, some existing, some extinct. These races would of course come with their own range of intrinsic strengths and skills and their very existence could in some cases impact on the story; i.e, why are these extinct or forgotten races suddenly returning to prominence? Adding new races sporadically is one way World of Warcraft has managed to remain fresh for all these years; this is one instance where I wouldn't mind Bethesda taking a page out of the Bethesda book.
