Agents Of Mayhem Review: 3 Ups & 7 Downs
1. Some Saints Row Elements Shine Through
'Some' being the operative word here, as many are only things you'll pick up on if you're really looking.
That said, outside of Steelport getting a mention and the likes of Johnny Gat being playable, a more memorable standout boss battle comes against one August Gaunt; a narcissistic popstar.
Tackling Gaunt sees him sing an auto-tuned song about how awesome he is while waves of goons flood the surrounding stadium. You've got legions of brainwashed fans chanting his name, Gaunt himself sounding increasingly out of key as you break his equipment, and some brilliant level design that lets you hop between a variety of heights to avoid damage.
Set-pieces like this are reminiscent of why we fell in love with Saints 3 and 4 in the first place, and though they're supremely rare across the game overall, remain worth highlighting.
