8. More Character Customisation

Customisation in Animal Crossing has been fairly poor so far in the series. When you think of how simple it would be, how much personality it would add to the game and how much it flies in the face of the game’s core themes, it’s actually one of the more bizarre absences from the features.

With New Horizons though, this is no longer the case. Hair style, hair and eye colour, facial features and skin tone will all be customisable. Not only that, they’ll be changeable at any time during the game too; it’s doubtful that a bit of plastic surgery will fool Tom Nook when he comes to collect his bill, though.

None of the customisation options are gendered either, meaning you’ll have complete control.

At least, that is, when it comes to your look. When it comes to your species, it seems you’re once again stuck as a human, despite the game being called Animal Crossing and featuring tons of animal character models.

While the animal options are unlikely to be present in New Horizons, there is still a way the feature can work...
