Animal Crossing: New Horizons Wishlist - 10 Things Fans Need To See

3. Dating

Animal Crossing has had a sort of pseudo dating/friendship mechanic in the past, but it’s never really gone anywhere. With New Horizons set to absolve you of any mayoral duties, this could be the time to increase that.

Considering the vast amounts of very questionable artwork in the internet’s darkest corners, with a full dating mechanic Isabelle would be very popular indeed.

Despite some... strange tastes amongst a minority of the fanbase though, in general Animal Crossing is a relaxed, family friendly game, so the dating system would need to match this.

It doesn’t need a complex dating sim style feature, but the opportunity to move in together, go for walks on the beach, complete some of your more fun tasks together et cetera would be welcome.

Considering how much you donate to the museum over a playthrough, taking your partner there to show off your collectibles would be a nice, wholesome touch too.

Animal Crossing are experts at keeping everything sweet and comforting while still creating an engaging game. Adding a light touch dating portion of the game which still manages to be rewarding should be achievable too.
