Anthem: 10 MASSIVE Fan Complaints Bioware Can't Ignore

3. Loading Screens

Without doubt, one of the biggest complaints gamers and reviewers had with Anthem at launch was the downright insulting load times.

I touched upon this earlier, but there are literally longer loading screens than some missions. And it's not just one loading screen to get from Fort Tarsis to gameplay; there's loading screens between menus, there's loading screens between post-mission achievements and getting back to Fort Tarsis, and so much more.

Now, it's only fair to acknowledge that the load times have gotten better since the game launched, and will no doubt continue to get better, but how a 2019, $60 game launched with so many obtrusive screens is baffling.

Sure, it's not a one-for-one comparison, but when a game as expansive as Red Dead Redemption 2 runs smoothly with no loading screens in the world, it makes Anthem's woes look so much worse. This is just another barrier to playing the game and having fun, something Bioware talked extensively about not wanting prior to release. And yet it feels like the studio went out of its way to make it hard to play the game, and unrewarding when you actually do.
