Anthem 2.0 Wishlist: 8 Ways To Fix The Game

1. Revamped Loot And Unique Boss Drops

Arguably, the most important part of a looter shooter is the loot and Anthem was notorious for not having much at launch. The weapons had little variation, the armor pieces were hidden behind paywalls and the abilities were treated as loot instead of progression.

Anthem's loot pool should be redesigned from the ground up and take some inspiration from Diablo 3 and Borderlands 3. These two games shine at creating modifiers that help make loot feel useful and varied, while still deep enough to create different builds.

The weapons need identity and purpose. Guns were too often re-skins of other base models and felt no different to use.

Unique loot drops from specific bosses would be a great start. These drops could provide set bonuses when equipped as well as offer another way to unlock cool items without having to pay. New weapons should feel and look different and really make players strategize about what they will bring into battle with them.

This is a sci-fi setting, so boundaries can be pushed when it comes to weapons and components. Lean into that Bioware, and take players on that epic adventure promised to them one year ago. Remember, stronger together.
