Anthem: 9 Things It Must Learn From Mass Effect Andromeda
6. A Truly Brilliant Character Customisation Suite
It goes without saying that Andromeda's faces were a problem in-game, though one of the most egregious and off-putting initial aspects came from the terrible character creator. The preset faces looked like cobbled-together sentient mounds of Play-doh, and that was before they started moving.
It didn't stop there, though. Body shapes, hairstyles, musculature, tattoos and markings - it was incredibly hard and nigh-on impossible to create anybody that deviated from the starting avatar's overall figure... unless you dove into warping them completely or adding purple hair, of course.
Being that Anthem will see us spending a lot of time trading goods at home base after any successful missions and raids, assumedly we'll be hanging with our digital friends just as much as when out in the Javelin mech suits.
As such, keeping up appearances is paramount, as if there's one mark of a great RPG, it's how long you spend in the character creator.
