5. VK-47 Flatline
Another assault rifle, the VK-47 Flatline packs a bit more of a punch than the R-301, at the expense of a high rate of fire. Shot-for-shot, the Flatline does more damage than the R-301 (and like the Wingman, it feels very powerful to use), and since it has a higher base magazine size, chances are you'll be able to deal more damage with it overall.
The fact that the Flatline's rate of fire is slightly lower isn't a bad thing, either; this actually makes it easier to land your shots. Rather than slamming out a frantic, persistent stream of bullets like the R-301, the Flatline is a more controlled, patient weapon. You won't burn through ammo very quickly at all, and generally speaking, it's much easier to down an enemy before being forced to reload.
On the downside, the Flatline's heavy ammo is harder to obtain than the R-301's light ammo, so if you're having one of those games where you can't seem to find heavy ammo anywhere, think twice before picking this one up.
