Assassin's Creed 2017: 10 Time Periods We Want To See

5. Mayan Civilisation/Inca Empire

The style of Inca and Mayan Civilisations are a unique and interesting one indeed. With the mighty pyramids and structures like Machu Picchu to be explored. The structure and architecture of the time lends itself well to the formula of an Assassin’s Creed game.

With the Mayan period being explored through Black Flag ever so slightly, there is a lot of room for an expanded game set in that time. The Mayans seemed to have some connection to the Precursors so the ideas for a story are there to begin with. Not to mention that the culture and style of the two empires would be a vast change from the usual formula of an Assassin’s Creed game.

However, if you are looking for a central conflict to base the game around - with underlying style and culture of those south American countries - the Inca Empire at the end of its reign would have all those points to explore. The Spanish Conquistadors arriving in their cities and attacking the empire would serve perfectly for the Assassin/Templar conflict and could be an interesting dynamic.

All in all, exploring the back story behind a lot of the Mayan artefacts could be a fun experience combined with the tall pyramids and culture, would just be exceptional.
