3. Ancient China

Ancient China is one of the more popular ideas for a new Assassin’s Creed, and with AC: Chronicles glancing over the setting already, hopes for an ancient China or at least medieval China setting are high. Whilst the setting is broad, it offers a great deal of interesting and classic architecture to set a game within.

Dependant on time periods, the great wall could exist in one of the many forms it took beneath different Dynasties, and a multitude of scholars and famous kings from China could be featured: Sun Tzu, Lao Tzu, Confucius, or the Zhao Dynasty are some of the most notable names from the period that would be just awesome to see.

Not to mention the multitude of conflicts and backdrops for the game. The Warring States Period in which seven different warring states fought for control. The idea of choosing a state at the end of the game and working as an assassin for them, moving behind enemy territory to pick of key targets and expand your influence. It could be a new and interesting way to expand the map as your chosen state conquers more land, giving you more places to explore without fear of getting attacked every time.

The style and design of ancient China is one of the key factors that draw me and fans to the period. A dense and engaging history that not enough people know about, could be brought into the limelight with a game that would be a notable change from the standard British accents, regardless of where the character is from.

I like video games, writing and writing about video games. Expect sarcasm and the dry wit of a Brit. And the occasional rant of a unhappy Scot. You know... the usual.
