When an Assassin's Creed game comes out, the question on everyone's mind is always the same: where will the sequel be set? Following Origins' trip to Ancient Egypt, early rumours pointed towards the follow-up venturing to either Japan or China, locations which fans have pined to see for years now.

However, with their teaser reveal, Ubisoft have confirmed that the new game will in fact take place in Ancient Greece. The image of a soldier preforming a "this is Sparta!" kick from the top of a mountain was already enough of a clue, but Ubisoft themselves have now confirmed the setting for the upcoming sequel.

Though the time period might not have been what fans initially expected, it's hard to see anyone being disappointed with the choice. Ancient Greece is home to some of the most iconic stories, characters and locations in history, primed with myths and legends that could easily act as the basis of an Assassin's Creed game.
