Though fans don't know too much for certain about the next Assassin's Creed, they do know one thing for sure: it will be out before the end of the fiscal year. That puts an actual release date anywhere between now and March of 2019, but if past releases are anything to go by, the project might actually drop sooner rather than later.

The franchise has always released at the end of the year, a slot which hasn't hurt Ubisoft as of yet. It would be a strange choice to see them push it out of that window, but the devs have repeatedly reiterated their commitment to not shipping the game until it's ready.

Still, it's a good bet that there'll be a quick turnaround on this one, with a full announcement of the sequel at E3 followed by a swift road to release before the year is out.
