Assassin's Creed Origins: 10 Important Questions It Must Answer
6. Are We Going Full-On Mythological Beasts Now?
Include a literal freakin' Kraken in Assassin's Creed II and nobody panics. But include a super-sized sand serpent in the first reveal, end everybody loses their minds.
One of the biggest takeaways from Origins' gameplay montage was a scene where Baek fights a clearly fantasy/Clash of the Titans-esque snake, looking to take it down in what'll most likely be a really intense fight. This kind of thing is clearly included because of the new combat system needing more overblown, memorable and Dark Souls-like encounters, but it begs the question: Is this just the tip of the iceberg?
Ubisoft have the entirety of Egyptian mythology to play around with, using the "Who knows what's buried beneath the sand..." rationale whenever necessary.
Personally at this stage I don't think an oversized beast is any more ridiculous than time-travelling Gods and plans for mind-controlling world domination, but what do I know.
