Assassin's Creed Origins: 10 Past Mistakes Ubisoft Can't Repeat

7. Cut Out The Tailing Quests

Despite being the worst parts of the Assassin's Creed franchise for years now, it seems Ubisoft hasn't received the memo about how much players hate tailing missions.

Forcing players to follow suspects while staying out of sight, the quest type brings the pacing of any title crashing to a halt. Having to slowly follow someone for ten minutes just isn't fun, and when the game instantly fails you and forces you to start from the beginning if you're spotted, it feels like a slap to the face.

The series has plenty of dumb mission types like this that stick out like a sore thumb, but none are quite as infuriating as having to stalk someone from the shadows without being seen. It wouldn't completely fix the problems the franchise has with quest structure and variety, but cutting out this kind of mission in Origins would go a long way in actually making the title fun to play.
