10. Ubisoft Have Gone Overboard On Upgrades And Crafting

If you thought that Ubisoft might have pared back their ridiculous focus on micromanaging systems and menus, then Origins might prove to be a huge disappointment.

Not getting the memo that less can sometimes be more, with their latest Assassin's Creed, the studio has doubled down on giving players even more systems to tinker with, boxes to check and upgrades to pursue.

In fact, it's invaded every aspect of the game to the point where even Bayek's hidden blade is upgradable, with certain targets not being able to be killed unless you've crafted the right dagger.

Since when was plunging steel into someone's neck up in need of "levelling"?

In Ubisoft's world this probably makes sense, but in the world of the game it's going to be a huge headache. At the end of the day, it's a sharp blade vs soft human skin, and arbitrarily creating a situation where you can't use basic weapons effectively only adds more obstacles to the game than it needs.

Crafting and upgrading can be a good thing, but this seems like a step too far, to the point where all of these added options actually result in the game having more limitations.
