Assassin’s Creed: 5 Must-Plays & 5 That Suck

8. Sucks: Unity

Assassin's Creed Unity
Ubisoft

A bug infested mess, Unity drove us all crazy with it's awkward frame-rate and all around glitch-filled mechanics.

The backdrop of the French Revolution offered a beautiful environment to explore - when it was rendering properly of course - and the game in its entirety was an intriguing property for fans.

However shoddy graphical issues, the lack of an option to be a female character and a somehow mundane story leaves nothing but disappointment in those unfortunate enough to play it.

Unity was the first game in the franchise to enable players the ability to upgrade their character. It also introduced some genuinely joyous-looking parkour, not to mention the freedom to play cooperatively online. It's developers clearly had some positive ambitions.

But the final product is something that falls catastrophically short. Tired and frankly all-too generic mission structures, and a sloppy sets of controls, Unity is lumbered with bad vibes all round.

It tries to accomplish what many other entries in the franchise do more successfully, and thus should be avoided during any playthroughs as it offers nothing new or enterprising.
