Assassin’s Creed: 5 Must-Plays & 5 That Suck
6. Sucks: Assassins Creed 3
From one successful tale of innovation, to one of fraught failure.
Quite possibly the most divisive entry to this list, Assassins Creed 3 was the first to introduce a new titular character from Desmond's story and began a new chapter in the series.
As Connor players were tasked with playing a pivotal role in the American Revolution, a fresh setting for the series and a welcome detachment from its past time periods.
Armed with new moves such as running through trees and a collection of other attacks, it appeared to be on the right track. However it's a shallow outing at best.
Connor's story is difficult to latch on to, as his character itself is terribly one dimensional. While the game aesthetically is more than pleasing, the story lacked a sense of gravity, and the characters themselves offered little to resonate with.
Promising fans a cutting-edge title, three fails to fully realise it's potential, and in truth, can be classified as a dry run for something better.
It also took hours - tangible HOURS - to get into being able freely begin your assassinations among the world. We don't want to have to go through that again, and neither do you.
