7. Full Character Redesign
One of the major reasons why Assassin's Creed III felt so fresh to me was the fact that Connor Kenway had literally been built from the ground up in terms of character design. It wasn't just the look, but the way he moved through the world; he was almost animalistic and predatorial, where Alitair and Ezio were much more traditionally graceful. As a result, Connor felt completely unique; not just another skin over the same old skeleton, but completely
different, both tonally and physiologically. I hope for their fourth title, Ubisoft repeat this exercise, particularly if they're interested in keeping the series - which is often accused of sticking steadfast to its own familiar formula - fresh and dynamic. Will this actually happen? Well, there are reports that AC IV could come as early as 2013, and if that's the case, I'd say no given how long AC III spent in development; we're likely looking at another Connor-centric title. Despite this, I'm still holding out hope that IV represents an entirely new character focus and that, whomever we end up in control of, they've been designed from the ground up just like Connor was.
