Assassin's Creed: Every Major Villain RANKED

4. Haytham Kenway - Assassin's Creed III

While the final villain in Assassin's Creed III is the sadistic Charles Lee, it's suave Templar Grand Master Haytham Kenway who is the most memorable nemesis of the game, and one of the most iconic in the series.

Son of Assassin Edward Kenway and grandfather to Assassin's Creed III protagonist Ratonhnhaké:ton (aka Conor), Haytham was sent from England to the American colonies, tasked with finding a way to access a precursor vault.

Poised, elegant, and witty even during his most cruel acts, it's virtually impossible not to fall for Haytham's charms. We know he's supposed to be one of the bad guys, but his rational reasoning for his actions gives him a far more sympathetic portrayal than your standard Assassin's Creed villain.

With large sections of the game seeing Conor and his Templar father working together, not only is Haytham more directly involved in the game's overarching narrative, the connection between him and Conor is also strengthened through great writing and chemistry, which made the father-son subplot all the more relevant and Haytham's death more affecting.

Thankfully fans got to see more of what made Haytham great when he appeared in Rogue. And hopefully we can see more of him soon, too.
