Assassin's Creed: Every Major Villain RANKED
11. François-Thomas Germain - Assassin's Creed: Unity
The game that was supposed to bring the franchise into the next generation with revitalised gameplay and a dense 18th century revolutionary Paris to traverse, Assassin's Creed: Unity is sadly better remembered for its catastrophic, bug-riddled launch.
While the game does have plenty of high points such as a phenomenal hot-air balloon set piece and assassination missions that give you plenty of options to dispatch your target, the overall Assassins vs Templar storyline is arguably one of the most lacklustre in the franchise. A Romeo And Juliet romance mixed with a murder mystery to uncover the killer of Arno's adopted father, a trail that leads to France's Templar Grand Master François-Thomas Germain - a silversmith with royal connections.
Exiled form the Order only to form his own radical sect, Germain had potential to be a very serious threat for Arno and his Assassin brethren. Instead, Germain was more concerned with politics and the standard Templar philosophies of controlling mankind, meaning he was unable to inject some much-needed character into an already dry plot.
Although he does get an interesting boss fight and is the reason for the game's most emotional moment, neither is enough to make this villain any more memorable.
