Assassin's Creed: Every Major Villain RANKED
8. Achilles Davenport - Assassin's Creed Rogue
Unlike any of the other games in the
series, Assassin's Creed Rogue (which released alongside Unity) is the only
full game that sees players take control of a Templar instead of an Assassin.
Set prior to the events of Assassin's Creed III, Rogue centres around the story of Shay Patrick Cormac, an Assassin who defects to the Templars under the mentorship of Haytham Kenway after inadvertently causing a devastating earthquake whilst on a mission to recover an artefact for the Assassins. When he confronts his Brotherhood, believing they shouldn't have the power to cause world-changing catastrophes, he's shot and left for dead.
Consequently, the main antagonist of this game isn't a Templar, they're an Assassin, namely a younger Achilles Davenport. While the story of Rogue provides a far more nuanced take on the main themes of the series, Davenport is still as uninteresting and bland as he was when we first met him as the old recluse in Assassin's Creed III.
Though seeing just how this once strong collection of Assassins were wiped out is an interesting addition to the series' narrative, Achilles' presence added little to the overall experience.
