Although Assassin's Creed IV: Black Flag has received some criticism for its lacklustre modern day sections that consisted of wandering around an office building to complete some hacking puzzles, its light-hearted, swashbuckling pirate action has seen this entry be elevated to the status of fan favourite.

Exploring tropical Caribbean islands and engaging in action-packed naval combat as lovable rogue Edward Kenway made for some of the game's biggest highlights as we embarked on a grand pirating adventure to uncover the location of the Observatory, a powerful artefact that allows people to spy on anyone in the world.

And what would a game set in the Golden Age Of Piracy be without some legendary pirates, one of which being Bartholomew Roberts - also known as Black Bart.

Though initially sceptical of Edward, Roberts eventually aided him in locating the Observatory as only Roberts can open it. However, being a merciless pirate, he betrays Kenway and sends him to prison for piracy.

Although Roberts only really becomes the main antagonist during the game's final act, his colourful character and ruthless nature added some extra flavour to this already fantastic game - even if his boss encounter wasn't as interesting.
