Assassin's Creed Kingdom Wishlist: 10 Things We Need To See
8. Weapon Specialists
Assassin’s Creed has been moving towards RPG mechanics more and more, so perhaps some class specialisms could be introduced. It’s had a range of weapons for a while, and you could choose how to play, but there’s more depth they could delve into.
With Vikings having a huge arsenal with a variety of weapons, they could each play slightly differently with various strengths, weaknesses or attack patterns. If the game allowed you to switch between weapons at will, getting gradually better at each, players could choose to be a jack of all trades or a master of one.
Obviously, the hidden blade would be a consistent part of your weaponry regardless of your choices, but a Viking setting does allow for things to be much more brutal. If Ubisoft are indeed going Norse, they have to lean into the violence. This could be their most blood splattered, most carnage filled game yet.
It sounds good on paper, but would get stale quickly. Adding some specialisms in there would keep things fresh, add a chance for completionists to master all of them, and make this setting unique.
