Assassin's Creed Movie Trailer: 11 Things You Totally Missed
10. Jeremy Irons' Character Has Been In The Games
As the house of cards slowly starts to come crashing down at the close of the first game, you'll get told that your supposedly helpful captors are actually Templars, that your assistant Lucy is an assassin, and that you really need to find a way out.
To that end, you're free to wander the laboratory and search for clues, to which you'll happen upon some email exchanges between your pal Warren Vidic, and an increasingly irate Alan Rikkin (played by Irons in the movie).
In the AC comics, Rikkin is eventually shown to be the leader of the entire present-day Templar Order, and the person responsible for all the human testing of at least Subjects 12 through 16 (your character, Desmond, was no. 17). If you piece together the clues in the right way, it would seem everything has been building towards a confrontation or fleshing out of Rikkin's motives, and if there's any actor to do him justice, it's the steely Jeremy Irons.
