Assassin's Creed: Syndicate - 10 Ways It Already Made The Series Great Again

5. Variety Of Gameplay

Assassin's Creed Syndicate
Ubisoft

In addition to the main story, which in terms of gameplay is a more or less standard Assassin's Creed affair, finding a good balance between familiarity and innovation, Syndicate provides an absolute variety pack of things to do.

The fight clubs are incredibly fun and utilize the combat system to its fullest, whilst the different types of street races will get your blood pumping. The police bounty, gang stronghold and Templar hunt missions can either provide you a chance to test your stealth and finesse, or go on an absolute rampage, depending on your personal preference.

All of these missions are done for the purpose of both being awarded new upgrades and gear, as well as get you closer to conquering each respective borough of London for your gang, The Rooks, as you push out the enemy Blighters (who are in cahoots with the Templars.) Once you've effectively clean house, you then take part in gang wars for control of the borough, which are nothing short of brutal brilliance.

As if the game wasn't diverse enough, upon completing sequence 5, you also unlock access to a World War I memory sequence. Set just under fifty years after the events of the main game, you take control of Jacob's granddaughter, Lydia Frye. You fight your way through a panic-ridden 1914 City of London, fend of German fighter planes, complete unique variations on the borough-conquering missions from the main game, this time to help the war effort, as well as rub shoulders with Winston Churchill, all while being given exposition from an ever-present Juno.

Absolutely nothing feels out of place, and somehow, all of this content meshes incredibly well.
