Assassin's Creed: Syndicate - 8 Signs Ubisoft Learnt Nothing From Unity

2. 'Pre-Order Culture' Is Back In Abundance

Did you close the trailer after the action stopped, thereby missing the always-insulting "Pre-order now to get a bonus mission!" garbage? It includes Charles Darwin and Charles Dickens - confirming the first appearance of real-world figures from the time period, but asking you go off blind faith with your cash, plumping it down before barely a sniff of gameplay has been revealed. Not only that, but alongside the already-inflated $60 asking price, is a variety of additional pre-order bundles ranging from $90 to over $120 and beyond. What do you get for forking over such an abundance of cash? The extremely vague "Major expansion plus digital content & exclusives" apparently - although that's about as clear as a smoggy 1800's English skyline in itself. Ubisoft are making no bones about bleeding the series dry while they can, and when the first trailer touts such pricey offerings to get the 'full' experience, it's just insulting to the fans that supported the series for so long in the first place.
