Assassin's Creed: Unity - 10 Most Exciting Features From E3

2. The Storming Of The Bastille

If there are two things that every person knows about the French Revolution no matter where they are or who they are, it€™s that people were executed by guillotine and that the Bastille was stormed. But why is this included in the list when the Bastille isn€™t stormed in any of the footage shown? Simply put, it€™s because Ubisoft are being downright sneaky by not saying what it is that they€™re showing. The date at the start of the Rule The World trailer is July 14, 1789 €“ the date that the Bastille was taken €“ and the footage follows the path of an eagle€™s flight over Paris as the partisans approach the French Guard line in front of what looks like an old-style keep. That very building is actually the Bastille and they€™re going there to relieve it of ammunition stores after they stole a huge number of muskets earlier that morning. The action in the trailer then switches to the four Assassins infiltrating the Bastille itself and lowering the drawbridge before taking out the remaining troops inside the courtyard and letting the peasants into the building€™s interior. Needless to say, this is a statement of intent by Ubisoft to say that a level based on this will be featured €“ because if they decided to cover it by a pre-rendered sequence in-game, then they would have their own riot to contend with.
