Assassin's Creed: Unity - 10 Most Exciting Features From E3
8. More Weapons Than You Can Shake A Stick At
The Rule The World trailer made some big announcements as far as weaponry is concerned. Each edition of Assassins Creed has made some subtle changes in equipment compared to the previous versions and Unity looks set to continue this trend. There are some returning favourites shown such as smoke bombs and pistols, and even a claim that for once you might actually want to use a double handed axe as a weapon of choice. But the biggest appearance was something new an underhand crossbow attachment for the hidden blade. Although Ezio used to carry around a full sized version in the Assassins Creed II games, this is the first time that it has appeared since. This makes perfect sense as a quiet ranged weapon has become something of a trademark ever since then with Connor owning a bow and Edward sporting a blowpipe. Also shown is a pistol being used by one of the Assassins, although not with such gay abandon as Kenway in AC4. Even so, three shots were fired in the sequence because the gun has multiple barrels, meaning this means that it could well be a pepper-box style pistol, which was made in both England and Belgium around 1790 and makes it a perfect choice for the French Revolutionary time period.
