Assassin's Creed: Unity - 10 Most Exciting Features From E3

6. Co-Op Multiplayer

This was something that Ubisoft was obviously keen to highlight as it featured in both the in-game footage as well as the Rule The World trailer €“ because it appears for the first time in the franchise, a multiplayer mode has been developed that people will actually want to play. Not only that, but they showed a split screen mode that is reminiscent of to the good of days of Goldeneye on the N64. Of course any such missions must be up to the challenge of having four players running through it at once, or otherwise it could simply get very stabby-stabby as all four Assassins overwhelm a limited number of guards. But they have plenty of time to get these absolutely nailed down before the game comes out. Hopefully there will be a lot of level designers out there who have previously worked on MMORPGs who have plenty of experience in making sure that gamers can€™t simply win by running into a room and beating everything silly. Keeping the traditional gameplay elements alive in the new co-op mode will be important, as otherwise it might as well be a beat-em-up game instead. But fans must be willing to give the developers the benefit of the doubt with this first attempt; after all, the ship combat was highly praised in AC4 but that was only after it was first introduced in AC3 and then improved upon. By this count, the co-op mode on Assassin€™s Creed 6 should be spectacular.
