If there's one thing I've learnt from fighting against Danes it's that flails are incredibly difficult to parry, as made clear by the countless times one has rearranged Eivor face while under my control.

Wielding a flail for the first time can be pretty intimidating since similar weaponry hasn't really been used in the Assassin's Creed franchise before, but once you get swinging it won't take long before the enemies surrounding you are flat on their backs.

To get your first taste of what this feels like keep your eyes open when attacking Kjotve's Fortress on the island of Rygjafylke during Eivor's story arc in Norway. To the north of the restricted area you'll find a homestead with a triangular roof. Inside and hiding behind a reed divider you'll see a wealth chest containing the Iron-Star, which is a fine flail that stacks with the Path of the Bear.

With a whopping bonus of 10 to attack and an ability which increases attack damage for 3 seconds after performing a heavy finisher, you won't find a one-handed weapon with this kind of damage output anytime soon. And if the weapon's windup is too long, try duel wielding with a fast weapon like the Yngling Seax to strike quickly when you need to.
