3. It Will Launch On Current And Next-Gen Platforms
Ubisoft is touting this as it's first next-gen console release, but it will still be released on current consoles as well. Ideally, it would be great to see a new game developed solely with the tech of next-gen consoles, but with such huge established player bases on current-gen Ubisoft would be leaving a ton of money on the table.
The game's release comes right around the time the new consoles will be launched so the ability to play it on almost any platform will certainly help sales. This is familiar territory for Ubisoft Montreal as Assassin's Creed: Black Flag released right at the transition of last gen and this gen and sold great.
Valhalla will also be one of the first games to take advantage of Xbox One X' smart delivery technology. This allows players who purchase the game for Xbox One or Xbox One X to play it on either console without having to purchase another copy.
