Assassin's Creed: Valhalla Trailer Review: 6 Ups & 1 Down

3. The Huge Army Battles

As we know with any invasion, an army tends to be paramount. What is apparent in this trailer is that army battles look common place. We are treated to some fantastic fight scenes with enormous amounts of troops on each side, with each battle more perilous and visceral than the next.

Charging into battle looks exhilarating as floods of troops storm the battle field and there's something enthralling about seeing two large groups duke it out. The series has naturally opted to largely remain a more solo venture, with the occasional up-scaled battle where you just so happen to be involved. Here an emphasis was put on war. Given that war requires many people, hopefully his is an added element to the game.

Assassin's Creed has a track record of keeping itself in the upper echelon of visuals even with multiple enemies and things going on in the background, with any luck the fight scenes shown in this trailer are a sign of things to come.

Can we just take a moment to applaud the way these sequences were shot? Given the grand scale of them, it felt like watching something out of a movie scene. Wonderful shot, wonderfully executed, a massive "up" for this trailer.
