Assassin's Creed: Victory - 10 Things It Must Learn From Black Flag
8. Historical And/Or Mythical Characters
Pirates: Theyre a funny bunch. Somehow we know a lot about them but, actually, we really know nothing about them all the same - something that's ideal for an Assassin's Creed game. Often based on little truth and a lot of fable story-telling, iconic yet somewhat mythical figures such as Blackbeard are perfect for the Assassins Creed series. We can trace some historical facts about them, but the developers are free to expand upon the characters and apply their own aesthetic and contextual spin. One of the most beloved aspects of the game is the use of historical characters - Leonardo Di Vinci and George Washington to name but a few - as they historically anchor the games in the era they're based in, making the actions of the assassin (and by extension the player) more relevant and important. AC Victory should follow in the same vein of including historical figures, along with more mythical and fictitious characters that can be redesigned to fit the AC mould - iconic folk such as Jack the Ripper, Jekyll and Hyde, Philleas Fogg and possibly even Sherlock Holmes (a Cumberbatch cameo, perhaps?) or variations of them could easily be interpreted into the game, even if only briefly to further cement the aura of Victorian Britain.
