Assassin's Creed: Victory - 10 Things It Must Learn From Black Flag

5. Improved A.I & Enemy Difficulty

Simply put, the combat and interaction with enemies is too easy, and has become a common criticism of the series. Guards and other enemies routinely circle around you and attack one by one, resulting in an easy sword swinging melee attack for many a win - something made even easier when you achieve a kill streak resulting in even more deaths simply by pointing in the direction of your next opponent. In Black Flag we saw slight improvement on this system, but it still fell short. Rival sailors and guards would still circle with the reluctant bloodlust of vegetarian sharks, yet admittedly their attacks were somewhat less predictable making it slightly harder to achieve a mass killing spree - the key word there being €˜slightly€™. Kill streaks were still easy to obtain and a warning noise/signal was still omitted when the enemy was set to attack, like a poor man€™s Spidey Sense, making it far too easy to fall back on the tried n' tested counter/attack technique every time. AC Victory must draw upon the improvements of Black Flag's combat and continue to make interaction with enemies less predictable and more dangerous. The current system is incredibly fun and a staple of the franchise, but equally it has become dated and must be improved in order to avoid falling behind rival systems that exceed it like the Batman Arkham series.
