8. If The Grappling Hook Does Anything Meaningful
As soon as this was revealed, all manner of possibilities popped into many a gaming assassin's head - could we use it to escape up into the rafters, Tenchu-style? Perhaps dangle from a roof and kill what's below? Maybe it'll be a free-form swinging mechanic letting you get around the city with ease, flinging yourself off Big Ben before gliding away in a different direction like some Victorian Spider-Man? It might not be any of these things, or it could be all and more - the only downside is remembering how Ubisoft touted the hookblade of Revelations only for it to be context-sensitive to specific parts of the world - not to mention even that implementation was just being a faster climb or a zipline between places you could leap across anyway. This new hook is the easiest way to shake things up at a core level - just introduce swinging animations that can bridge the more standard 'catch the ledge' ones we're accustomed to and things should come together nicely.
