Games Fellowship - Gabe Newell
The long awaited, and some would say long overdue award for lifetime's work in video games goes to Valve's CEO Gabe Newell. This is the man that brought us Half-Life, Portal, Team Fortress 2 and the incredible Steam. Johnathan Ross comes to the stage to give the award, joking about 'Valve Time' the measurement of time used in the offices of Valve when something coming any minute now canoften mean next week or next year. He continues, thanking Newell for his contribution and stating that often with everything is "Ready when it needs to be." And that is the beautiful thing about Valve. As Newell takes to the stage he very humbly accepts the award to a standing ovation and apologises to the crowd for not being eloquent or wearing a tuxedo to the event, but every word has immense sincerity behind as he thanks all of his colleagues and fans at Valve for making it what it is today. Also. Half-Life 3 to be released in time for Christmas? That could possibly be Christmas 2015 in Valve Time though. If you missed the event and would like to see it yourself, it will be shown March 11th, 10pm on Challenge.
