Batman: Arkham - 10 Rumours About The Future Of Rocksteady You Need To Know

5. Batman Beyond

There's no question that one of the favored alternate takes on the Dark Knight has been Batman Beyond. Set in the future, this concept began as an animated series that featured an elderly Bruce Wayne taking on a young protege, Terry McGuinness, and training him to be the new Batman.

Armed with a hi-tech batsuit that allowed him to fly (and a flying Batmobile), Batman Beyond quickly became a fan-favorite. Even now, fifteen years after the animated series ended, it's still popular enough among fans that DC has an ongoing comic book devoted to Terry's adventures.

Batman Beyond skins have appeared in both Arkham City and Arkham Knight and many fans have said that a Batman Beyond game would be a great follow-up to the Arkham series. Rocksteady has even set it up perfectly.

Check out the Beyond skin from Arkham Knight. Unlike the other skins, which have for the most part been faithful recreations of the source, Batman Beyond's is the most different. It's got the kind of busy feel and attention to detail to it that Batman's default batsuit has.

Rocksteady sometimes drops hints for future projects in their games. This could be one. A Bruce Wayne who never died, but instead went underground and now, with the rest of his allies dead or retired, realizes Gotham again needs the Batman.

Seeing how Rocksteady tackles the Gotham of the future or Terry's batsuit and Batmobile is something I - and many fans - would pay top dollar to see.
